I know they only made 26 Trans Ams in 86 with the 305 H.O. L69 engine, how would I know if by the small chance that mine is one of those. Also does anyone know what differential gears and tranny that I have for this year. I got a 305 TPI with an automatic.

The H.O. had a carb.Look under your center console lid for RPO codes. GU2=2.73, GU5=3.23, GU6=3.42. Your tranny would be a 700R4 4-speed auto with gear ratios of 3.06,1.63,1.00, .70 overdrive.
