my battery light comes on and auto locks,windows, trunk don't work sometimes. i just bought a battery but wasn't the problem does this mean i need a alternator

Most likely the alternator is no longer charging. Your service light will not go off unless the car has been scanned and any problems fixed.

Sabrina, Any large retail parts store can load check your alternator, but it does sound like it's bad if you have a new battery.
