...overheats now HELP Now my car just started doing this this week and I don't know why. The whistling noise it makes sounds like a hot kettle on a stove & when I put antifreeze in my car, it seems like it all disappears into the engine because I filled up my cars engine coolant compartment and in 2 days it was empty, WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH MY CAR?

It could be that the thermostat is sticking which would make your car overheat when it is sitting still, and cool down when you are going.

If no collant is leaking on the ground and the whistle comes from the radiator as soon as the engine is started it sounds like a blown head gasket, cracked head or block. If the whistle is only when the engine over heats it could be a thermostat, cooling fan problem, or radiator cap.
