Rumors in the latest GM High Tech Performance or Chevy Magazine note that in 2008 the Z28 is back, similar retro look to the 1969 Camaro.

Will the 69 Ram Air T/A make a comeback??

My dream T/A, 69 T/A, Ram Air IV 4 speed convertible. 8 were made, not sure if any got the Ram Air IV, but one of the movie studio's had one for the I Dream of Jeanie series.

I hope so. The new Mustang made a statement. Hopefully Pontiac follows and top's them.

I think they missed the chance of a lifetime with the GTO. Should have gone retro with that instead of looking to the future with a Z28/TA.

Yea that! My friend was waiting for it to come out to buy one, and was disapointed with the looks of it.

I have a funny feeling there will be no more Firebird... Unfortunately...

Maybe after the new retro camaro begins to die off they'll bring out a firebird? Ford waited until the T-Bird ran it's course before introducing the retro mustang.

The T-Bird was an utter failure.. What a waste. I doubt the Camaro would come out looking stupid. I think Pontiac has the GTO to play with now.. I think that's going to be their performance car for a long time...

I like the concept pictures I have seen of the Camaro.
The only reason the Firebird and Camaro got discontinued was the problems that GM had with the plant in Canada. The new plant will be here in the US, and honestly the Camaro and Firebird were so much alike that I will be really surprised if the Firebird doesn't make a comeback as well.
We will just have to keep our fingers crossed - or better yet, shoot the GM exaces an few emails urging them to bring the Firebird back. Numbers talk...

Bring the T/A and the Z28 back to the Van Nuys plant, my T/A was born there, it was a good place....

If they can get back to making cars that are affordable and not significant amounts of people's yearly salary, they might stand a chance. And for heavens sake, do not be more expensive than the Mustang!

Bring back the Forumla in the nature that the Forumla was, the poor man's T/A. Same powertrain and suspension as the T/A, but in the basic car the Firebird was. We don't need no stinking power windows, locks, trunk and fancy dancy spoilers. That is all dead weight. Give me something I can sink my teeth into for power and make it under $20K and you have a sale.

GM shot itself in the foot with the poor "busy" styling of the final F'birds, but at least the last Camaro was looking good. I'd be tempted to look for a used Camaro.

Then they made things worse by dropping the F-bodies entirely, instead of simply "fixing" them.

Ford Mustangs are again dominating the segment. Having had one as a long-term rental for a long trip, the Mustang is a nice car, and the retro look turns heads like no one's business. Pontiac could do well to bring back the "70-73" Firebird family.

At the least, fix that wallflower GTO.

Rant over.

I always thought the final (2000-2002) Trans Am's were badass! Both in looks and perfomance. I don't like the looks of the same period Camaros at all. I think it's the headlights... They don't look right.

But, it is doubtful that the Firebird will be back this decade. If it does come back, it will likely be 2010-2012 before we see it.

I think there will be a Chevelle and GTO, the Camaro and Firebird are shelved for a later time.

You can help bring the T/A back by signing Kevin Morgan's petition. You do not have to donate. Here is the link...http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Bring_Back_The_Trans_Am/. Also if you would like you can e-mail Pontiac at pontiac.com, there is a link at the bottom of the page. I believe it says contact us..
