I have an 85 Fiero SE with a 2.5L engine.... When I am driving the car will randomly ding, as if it is announcing an alert or warning. Any ideas on what it could be

You have either a hood, decklid, or door switch that is loose, The E-brake handle is loose or the switch is mis-aligned.

Even though all are closed, the switches themselves could be bad or corroded.
If the E-brake is unhooked, There is no tension on the lever and it will bounce on bumps in the road and ding. Try disconnecting the connector on the E-brake switch and see if it goes away. If all else fails, Pull the blue box that is under the passenger side dash. This is commonly called "The blue dingy thingy" It is the dinging module. |
